Greetings from Moab, Utah
The trip to Arches National Park was well worth the detour. The environment is harsh and the scenery is incredible.
It's high and dry, with an elevation of 5000 feet plus or minus and humidity of about zero. We were lucky that the temperatures
were fairly moderate. It mostly stayed around 83 to 85, with a high of about 88. Once the sun got lower the temperatures dropped
to about 76 in the shade, affording us an opportunity to abandon pupster and the car in a shady trail head parking area for a walk
in the desert among the amazing rock formations.
Moab is a nice little town and a great base camp for visiting Arches and
Canyonland. There's a lot to see and do, especially for those interested in active sports such as hiking, mountain biking,
rafting/canoeing, and even skydiving. Wish we had more time to explore, but we're on the road heading east again, probably to
somewhere in Colorado.
