Hi
The video really shows how far behind the rest of the world we have fallen. They are currently attempting to build high speed rail in California and to no surprise Trump tried to stop it. I understand why they need it because of all the traffic problems they experience. But Tennessee would be a perfect location for a project like this. Lower property costs, lower labor costs, idealistic terrain; no major earthquake zones, and no tunneling would be required. We are such a long state, it would for once connect east and west making both ends easily accessible to one another, literally uniting the state. And could be built Ecco friendly.
Those are good things but I
(in reply to JaHu)
Those are good things but I don't see the ridership here to justify it.
I can see a route from Chicago, thru Louisville, Nashville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, Orlando getting a lot of usage, taking passengers out of cars and planes. Starting with an Atlanta to Orlando route would be a good start.
Busiest air routes
I guess my only justification
(in reply to jbr)
I guess my only justification for building it now, is planning for the future generations before it becomes to expensive to build. As of now it could be promoted more for tourism between different areas of the state.
With the rail following the interstate system, and also with Nashville's airport located right beside I-40 where a stop could be located, it could actually aid in making air travel more affordable and more accessable to more of the state.
Eventually the population growth in Tennessee will become rediculous. I'd like to see for once our state stay ahead of the game.
