At his website later today, Democratic Candidate for Governor Ward Cammack is releasing a 39 page report on "A Sustainable Future for Tennessee." It's the most detailed policy paper presented so far by any candidate of any party. You can read it right here.
His plan calls for building a sustainable industrial base by leading in the "green economy," building a sustainable agricultural base by using best farming practices and promoting Tennessee agricultural products in addition to "buying local," and building a sustainable financial base by leveraging our education and technology centers to bring in capital investments, expanding innovation and entrepreneurship, creating a world-class health care industry, becoming a national and international trans-shipment/inter-modal transportation center, promoting tourism, and growing our "mailbox economy" by attracting retirees.
It's a comprehensive plan that builds on our strengths with lots of solid, progressive ideas backed up with some interesting facts and figures. Cammack has set the bar, now expect some or all of these ideas to show up in other campaigns.

i'm sorry
but you have to give him credit for putting out this awesome document. I don't really care who is giving money to candidates right now, because this race really hasn't even gotten started.
This type of strategic planning, and this in-depth of a plan is probably why he was such a successful business man. That's the kind of thing we need. I hope to see more of these types of in-depth plans in the future.
Glad there is now a Democrat
Glad there is now a Democrat candidate with a platform. There is already a Republican with one. Click on my link and behold even more original thought.
'Original thought,' indeed
You've got my vote in the primary, Joe.
You're crazy enough that any Democrat could beat you.
Best of luck!
Cammack should run for Mayor of Memphis
Based on R. Neal's "scoop" Mr. Cammack should run for Mayor of Memphis because that's where both the international transportation/shipment and world class health care facilities are. Memphis is in dire need of leadership and it sounds like Mr. Cammack could really provide some leadership in Memphis.
I like what I see from Ward
I like what I see from Ward Cammack. He obviously gets it on a wide range of levels. The question is whether he can lead the rabble that now passes for the TN electorate?
Since you managed to dodge
Since you managed to dodge my question the other day Joe, I will ask you again.
Should we assume by your fondness of a Barry Goldwater quote that you plan to follow his example as soon as your bottom reaches the governor's chair with regard to your relationship to the LGBT community?
