I know what folks have been talking about now in regards to the hell it is to try and navigate unemployment by phone. My benefit year started in 1-09 and I transitioned relatively smoothly into extra benefits in Oct. and was told I was good until March. I received no notice that everything would stop after my year date was up though.
When I tried to do my certification Mon. I was told my year had ended and to call a #. You don't even get put on hold, it just says they are too busy and to try later. There is not yet a website up to do emergency benefits online. They are awaiting federal help. Could take til spring.
I can see the light of day as I have been called back to work for now. But I was still counting on another check or so for bills. I think it was a man completely out of work in this situation who had Don Dare on it recently. This is how folks get thrown out of homes etc and how incumbents of any stripe get thrown out of office.
I don't have an answer. Not sure if the stimulus has been the wrong kind or if the scope of this is just too big to handle.
