We just got back from Italy
We just got back from Italy and took their trains. What a great way to travel. You will never want to fly again. We covered a distance of Knoxville to Memphis in 3.5 hours with some stops. Train went up to 186 mph for a good distance.

Re: rail right of way thru Seymour
The Interstate Commerce Commission approved the abandonment of the Smoky Mountain Railroad in 1964 and upon abandonment of the Railroad line, the Railroad right-of-way reverted to the adjoining property owners.
The Railroad obtained an easement which was terminated by abandonment. The Tennessee Court of Appeals’ ruled in Smoky Mountain Railroad Company v. Paine Oil Company et al, Runyon, v. John B. Waters, Sr. Receiver that only an easement was obtained and upon abandonment, the rail lines reverted to the adjacent property owners.
