The six phases of acceptance
We are now entering the humor phase...
"Move on" is fine once it is
"Move on" is fine once it is fixed. It isnt fixed.
It is going to be tough and draining and take awhile. The "move on" attitude is a copout in this context.
Short memories
Does anyone remember little series of articles in the Shopper News entitled "Knox County Confidential"? Or what about the report from KCSD on Harber? Why is Ragsdale nominating anyone for an ethics anything? Sort of like letting the fox nominate guards for the henhouse.
Ethics
Ethics... Ethics... we don't need no stinking Ethics... we have the greatest behind closed door, no I am sorry... short recess negotiators in the country...
Humph...
finding some stray ethics around the City-County building is like finding a full bowl of potato salad at a fat chicks convention (no commentary about being mean, I AM a fat chick)
"You can't fix stupid..." ~ Ron White"
"I never said I wasn't a brat..." ~ Talidapali
Ragsdale
He is getting together yet another committee, didn't he get a committee together before the term limits ruling came down? We all know how well that worked.
Paging Jamie Woodson and Tim Burchett..
Mayor Mike Ragsdale to the rescue?
He didn't get want he wanted so now Jamie and Tim have to scurry to Nashville to "fix" it.
Rather petulant isn't it?
How is the idea of the provision to the County Charter for recall sounding now?
Cue the Who, "Won't be fooled again".
Until we have the power to fire these people this foolishness will continue. As long as they think we work for them this will go on.
BTW, we could wait until February 2008 and not incur extra expense but it appears that the expense is worth it if Randy Tyree can be elected Sheriff and Scott Davis can replace Lee Tramel.
I do give credit to the County Mayor, as usual this is politically brilliant. If he could only figure out the other parts of his job so well.
You are making a huge
You are making a huge mistake if your dislike of Ragsdale leads you to attempt to excuse this commission for its actions. They left Ragsdale an opening, and he drove a Sherman tank through it. The commissioners have made him look good, and no rational person should blame him for pressing his advantage.
In no way do I excuse any of this
You are making a huge mistake if your dislike of Ragsdale leads you to attempt to excuse this commission for its actions.
Why do you think I want a recall provision? I want the people to press their advantage. I am sick of politicians who think they are the boss of us.
Needs County Commission approval
The Ethics Committee will need approval by the County Commission. This is apparently spelled out in the new ethics policy that they approved.
Questions:
1. Will Scoobie approve this Ethics Committee?
2. Does Scoobie have 10 commissioners that will say NO to an Ethics Committee?
3. How will Josh Jordan vote? Sharon Cawood? The lumpster?
4. How will Scoobie spin it so that it is not a vote against the formation of an Ethics Committee, but on some technicality?
5. Is there anyway out for Scoobie or will he have to allow the Mayor to win this one?
6. Will he allow for the special meeting the mayor called or will it just be an agenda item at the Feb 26th meeting?
7. Can a "good christian" say no to an Ethics Committee?
8. Assuming that it gets approval and starts investigating the actions of the meeting last week, will commissioners have to be interviewed?
Are we having fun yet?
