Procter & Gamble (PG) said Wednesday that it was raising prices by an average of about 8% on retail customers next month for its Tide and Gain laundry detergents, Downy fabric softener and Bounce dryer sheets.

I have the outdoor fire covered. :-)

I had once tried to make lye soap but didn't have any success. I tried to make lye by burning hardwood for the ashes to make the lye and I tried using bacon grease and the lye water and cooked it over a fire but it was a complete failure. Don't think I would've made it in the 1800's.
