The Knoxville City Council will decide Aug. 8 whether to approve a $173,880 design contract to connect the greenways, located just across the river from downtown Knoxville.

The greenway that runs between the river and One Riverwalk apartments crosses west beneath Henley Street Bridge to 303 Flats before coming to a dead end near the railroad bridge.

On the other side of the railroad, a greenway runs along the river adjacent to CityView at RiverWalk condos.

The connector would bring these greenways together.
