Maybe she's trying to get ahead of the strong rumor that Commissioner Tony Norman retired from teaching earlier this week.

I see my good friend Brian
I see my good friend Brian Hornback is claiming another scalp over at his blog, and wishing her well in the private sector. (Isn't she still on County Commission?)
Anyway, that Brian, he's a real piece of work. And his Brians Blog staff, too.
Have a great evening!
Pleased
Sharon's decision to resign her position with the Juvenile Court is in keeping with the ethical behavior I've known her to exhibit.
Personally, I believe her when she says that she wants to more fully commit to her commission responsibilities, and I'm pleased to hear it.
Good move by Cawood. -- s.
Good move by Cawood. -- s.
Speaking of Mr. Hornback
Now Cawoods have only 2 County jobs, rather than 3 County jobs.
Kinda like Mr. Hornback's friend Mike Arms being on Commission and working for Ragsdale at the same time, and Arms' son working for the County at the same time. 3 county jobs. Did the Brian's Blog staff "report" any of this? Mike Arms did resign from Commission after awhile.
And Arms' son got his job with the County after his dad was already with the County.
But don't forget Mike Arms' government job in Oak Ridge that's still on going.
But don't forget Mike Arms'
But don't forget Mike Arms' government job in Oak Ridge that's still on going.
Ok, I'm no Arms fan, and his job in OR may well be funded by govt contracts, but he doesn't have a "government job." He works for SAIC.
Arms' son working for the County
That's a joke...maybe Brian needs to follow up on this. As I understand it Arm's son is on County payroll but rarely does county work or at least work that he was hired to do for the hours he was hired to be there. Another Ragsdale croney in the making.
OK
Ok, so Arms works for SAIC -- but he also drew $160,000 or so last year from Knox County including a $12,000 car allowance while driving a county vehicle.
This gives "double dipping" a whole new meaning. -- s.
Please tell me Tony Norman
Please tell me Tony Norman did not actually give up his teaching job. The world ain't right if this ethics crap costs students a good teacher while a bunch of tools for Hutchison and the insiders trudge oblivously onward.
I wrote a letter to all
I wrote a letter to all County Commissioners several weeks back concerning spending in the County Mayor's office. Sharon Cawood and Tony Norman both wrote letters back to me. Speaks well of both of them to take the time.
One Plus Zero
Brian and his entire blog team (one plus zero equals one) are calling for Hubert Smith to be brought back to work now that Sharon Cawood has resigned. Guess that would make little Brian and his "team" sleep better at night since he probably contributed to Smith losing his job.
Brian claims that Hubert was suspected of being a source to him and the entire (one plus zero) Brian's Blog team when he "broke" a story about Cawood a couple of weeks ago. Mr. Smith claims he was not the source. So here's the thing...if Hornback and Smith are friends, why would Hornback "break" a story that people would naturally suspect came from Smith? Why? Because Hornback is not a journalist and is an amateur. There are plenty of bloggers who are professionals with credibility, but he ain't one of them. His blog is merely self gratification for the one plus zeros. It's not his job to "break" stories. Leave that to the pros like Sandra and Betty.
Shame on you Hornback for not considering the consequences your friend might face. He lost his job. You gloat over Cawood. Congratulations.
Maybe one plus zero equals zero.
Thanks all
Hubert does not have to claim he was not the source. I have stated that he was not the source or a source. According to Cathy Quist Hubert was laid off not because of my blog. He was laid off according to the notice and reporting by the "pros" as a lack of funding by the Commission (which would have included Sharon) However, the Commission has publicly acknowledged and a review of the budget reveal that her budget was fully funded and Hubert's position was NOT cut.
As for my blog, if you don't like it or you think it is not professional enough for you. This is America, you don't have to log on.
This is not the first time that Brian's Blog has been successful in exposing what the MSM will not. We asked the question about Jack McElroy serving on multiple boards. After reflection he resigned one and credited Brian's Blog with asking the question.
As for the "pros" they reported two weeks ago that Hubert was keeping records on Sharon Cawood's attendance. This is an inaccurate report and not very becoming of any "pro". It continues to be a pattern of reporting lies.
BTW, the orginal post on Brian's Blog on 7/17/07 was posted after Cawood was quoted as saying that everyone should be revealed in the county investigation.
Since Cawood has been employed with the Clerk's office, the MSM have heard about her actions, but until Brian's Blog reported it they didn't start digging.
As for her private sector wishes. County Commission is a part-time job, so I am wishing her well in her full-time private sector employment. I like Mark and Sharon (he was a host for a 2004 fundraiser for me)
BTW, She will still have to read the conflict of interest statement at commission.
Thanks for reaading Brian's Blog and Have a Great day.
Cawood will move on. Smith
Cawood will move on. Smith will stay fired. Someone in Quist's office will be promoted to Cawood's former position. This is a non-story in three, two, one...
CBT,
there you go again with the facts wrong. Nothing new there.
Hubert has not been fired. The notice says laid off until further notice. As of this day he has not been fired or terminated.
I would think a member of the local bar association (legal, not adult drinks bar) would know the difference.
CBT wrong again..a non story there in three, two, one.....
Brian Hornback,
I believe you are in error when you state: "As for my blog, if you don't like it or you think it is not professional enough for you. This is America, you don't have to log on."
I sometimes read your blog just for my own entertainment not as a source that would be creditable. I have never logged on. I suppose if one was to leave a comment it might be necessary.
double or triple dip?
I wonder which vehicle Arms uses for his job in Oak Ridge.
From My Staff to Your Staff
With appologies to Steve on The Creek,
How many megawatts do you suppose the world could save if the staff at Brian's Blog shifted the background to black? Probably just a bit less than Google, somewhat less than KnoxViews, and a great deal more than the lonely Wearybottom Associates.
The entire staff at WA thanks your staff for permission to refrain from visiting their page(s). We try not to restrict employee use of the intarwebs unless it becomes abusive. There was that unfortunate incident with the Reverend Peavey and the undercover agent.
So far our monitor has found your site relatively benign, but we do hear the odd giggle from her cubicle occasionally.

Don't know, but I did see him at a Titans game last year in his county issued Ford Explorer. Never know who you might run into.

I'll put $10 on this meaning 'fired'. Any takers?
Hornback has his issues. I have mine. We disagree on some things. Some more than others. It's not something which concerns me.

Wow, business in Nashville on a Sunday! What were the odds?
And that's another thing. Does the county need to provide huge, gas guzzling carbon factories just for basic transportation? I know there was some excuse awhile back that they need to have room to be able to ride together so that they can save gas(!). But sheesh--would it kill 'em to have to accept a decently equipped Camry or Taurus?!
It's only our money.

"Hornback has..issues..."
After scientific polling, the staff here at WhitesCreek Journal totally agrees with CBT on that one.
A Ford Explorer is a 'huge,
A Ford Explorer is a 'huge, gas guzzling carbon factory'? Isn't it classified as a mid-size SUV?
The Mayor gets a Tahoe, new every two, all the bells and whistles, for close to $50k a pop.
Seems to me for driving around the county and an occasional trip to Nashville, a Ford 500, Chevy Impala, both of which get better mileage, would be cheaper to insure/maintain and are fairly standard 'company' cars, would be sufficient.
"Terminated"...gee Sandra,
"Terminated"...gee Sandra, you're not implying Smith was 'fired' are you?
As for Quist's comments on the increased caseload in Sessions Court, I can attest she is correct. Since the Legislature increased the jurisdictional limit for Sessions Court civil cases last year, all Sessions Courts across the state have seen substantial increases, requiring more work for court clerks and judges.
Isn't it classified as a
It's all relative. That's just how much we've come accustomed to ever giant rides for our ever giant butts. Kind of the opposite from finding out a mid-size rental car is a Kia.
Otherwise, the staff here at Factcheck.org .com .net is pleased to note we're in complete agreement.
Have a delightful rest of day.
