2007, not 1997...
Too bad Manning didn't play like that in 1997.

Oh, when we won the SEC
Oh, when we won the SEC title, Andy Axel?
Negativity.
You're the man Peyton.
Dude:The Vols won in 1998.
Dude:
The Vols won the National Championship in 1998, not 1997.

SEC Title Andy. SEC Title
SEC Title Andy.
SEC Title Andy.
And again, SEC Title Andy.
I guess now comes where you say SEC titles mean nothing.
MVP
I think the world of Peyton Manning since he finished his business, washed his hands, and signed autographs for two adolescent boys in the Men's room at the Knoxville airport several years ago. He was robbed in the Heisman race. The autographs are framed and hanging in the boys' rooms upstairs, even though one of them is off at college now.
But...The Colt's defense won the Superbowl, IMNSHO. Holding the Bears to 17 points was huge, even though they gave me heartburn on the Bear's first two posessions. Was the MVP award to Peyton a makeup for the Heisman loss?
All I know is I'm really glad I walked out of a Board meeting and paid for an earlier flight back home from DC just so I could see the game and watch all the commercials.
On a side note: I think I'm done eating Snickers Bars.
Ysy, Colts!
Steve

I guess now comes where you say SEC titles mean nothing.
There's no shame in nearly losing to Joe Lee Dunn's back-of-a-burrito-wrapper defense.
A win isn't a win
A win isn't a win anymore!
Just look at "Mission Accomplished"
Ha ha ha, sorry, couldn't help myself.
Yay! I'm waiting on a call
Yay! I'm waiting on a call from my son, who lived in Indy the first five years after he finished law school, and who lives and dies with the Colts and the Vols. I'm sure he's over the moon.
Great game (and great party,
Great game (and great party, at least the one I attended).
Peyton got his heebie jeebies all out of his system on the first posession, then ran a great game with the Colts D sealing the deal.
Peyton was due, and he stepped up. Good team effort all around.
