Is it just me, or were the Daily Show and the Colbert Report better without writers? A couple of shows I've seen with the writers back seemed stiff and uninspired, and some of the jokes were just stupid. Same thing with Bill Maher (actually, he hasn't been very good with or without writers lately). Maybe they need to rethink this whole comedy by committee thing?

Actually, I think they need to shake out the cobwebs. They went back to work on a couple of days notice and are probably pretty well out of rhythm.

TDS & Colbert are in reruns this week. I expect them to be tuned up upon their return.

I'm a fan, but I've noticed the same thing. He recently went on some crazy rant about medicine that would make Tom Cruise cringe. It doesn't help when he keeps putting Frank Luntz's fat ass on either.
