Message to House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy from American Lawyers Defending the Constitution

We are lawyers in the United States of America. As such, we have all taken an oath obligating us to defend the Constitution and the rule of law from those who would violate and subvert them, and to hold wrongdoers accountable.

Protect and Defend

It's about damn time. Was it really Pakistani lawyers that inspired them? That is pretty pathetic. I'd like to think it was actually disgust with Nancy Pelosi's strategically asinine decision to take impeachment off the table, and they are just too polite to say so.

In any case, for those of us who are not lawyers, you can add your name to Congressman Wexler's call for impeachment hearings by going to the Wexler Wants Hearings website. 125,000 Americans have signed on already.

As always, Republicans are encouraged to recognize that loyalty to country and Constitution ought to come before partisanship.

When Wexler announced his petition drive he said that he hoped to get at least 50,000 signatures. He had that many within 24 hours. He had 74K and rapidly climbing when I signed.

You know that's just what I thought back when all that uproar was going on over a blowjob.

to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights...
There won't be any impeachments..but history will record what happened so future generations can learn from the mistakes that were made.

He did receive a Major Award!

Reynolds must be too busy basking in the limelight from winning this major award.

He won for this stellar post from April 11, 2003. Excerpt:

So maybe we shouldn't rub in just how wrong, and morally corrupt the antiwar case was. Maybe we should rise above the temptation to point out that claims of a "quagmire" were wrong -- again! -- how efforts at moral equivalence were obscenely wrong -- again! -- ... and how an awful lot of the very same people who spoke lugubriously about "civilian casualties" now seem almost disappointed that there weren't more -- again -- and how many people who spoke darkly about the Arab Street and citizens rising up against American "liberators" were proven wrong -- again -- as the liberators were seen as just that by the people they were liberating. ... It's probably a bad idea to keep rubbing that point in over and over again.

Nah.
