Republicans have screwed up but handing over the reins to the Democrats, who can't make a decision about anything, is not the answer.

Life was pretty damn good for me with Bill Clinton at the helm.  The country had money in the bank, and so did most of the people.

 Look at things now.  From Iraq to gas prices to the looting of the Treasury, life is much, much worse for the average American, and for the average Iraqi, too.

 It is hard to fathom that anybody would vote to keep these hoodlums in power.

Don't let the GOP rain on our parade.

I heard a comment on local Tee Wee last night that a rainy election day in East Tennessee could actually be a problem for Republicans.  They reasoned that elderly voters would be less inclined to venture out in inclement weather to vote and that the East Tenn elderly generally vote Republican.

I consider myself to be borderline elderly and I voted on a day when it was raining like pouring water out of a boot onto a flat rock.  I voted heavily Democratic with my dog as a write-in for a couple of uncontested races.  I stood there in that line and I thought, "WWED".*

I had voted on the first day of early voting. However, I did do my part, in a small way, to get folks out to vote today. One friend of mine wasn't going to vote because, and I quote, "the candidates are all a**holes." But she did want to vote against the discriminatory marraige amendment. I reminded her that, as Randy said in the past, she could leave the races blank and vote against the amendment.

Eldest son's friend got all fired up over the weekend when he found out about the marriage amendment. Not sure if he's in Schree's district, but if he is, he'll be voting for Schree and against the remaining repugs. For a young man that wasn't going to vote, he was given enough reasons to get out and vote, by eldest son.

Finally, middle son's friend was over last night. Voting and election day came up in the conversation, and he too said the candidates were all a**holes and wasn't going to vote. I thought it funny that a 21 year old and a 40+ year old had the same thing to say. But, it's your DUTY to vote, I told him. I reminded him that if he stayed home today and did not cast his vote, he could not say anything against the candidate that won. That was enough to get his goose. I printed out where his polling place was, for him, just so he didn't have another excuse.

He called me earlier today, a little before noon, to tell me that he voted. Schree can count another vote in her column from him. He also told me that it wasn't busy at Cedar Bluff middle school.

Slowly but surely, the voters are getting out there. I just hope it's enough to effect a change.

If you haven't voted yet, but are planning too vote before the polls close. Keep this in mind, We are at war in Iraq because the Republicans controled the House and Senate.
