From Knoxnews,
It is truly amazing U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett continues to embarrass and vote against East Tennesseans, this time by voting on Dec. 20 to shut down the federal government.
He even went on social media to say "Shut it down." like some kid in a schoolyard.
...
Consider our neighboring congressman, Chuck Fleischmann, who represents Oak Ridge. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and actually gets things done for his district. He is conservative but not foolish.
And, what about his friendships with George Santos and Matt Gaetz?

If I was to admit to my single biggest regret as a writer.......
It would be scooping Mike Donilla, not really as hard as you might think, the same lack of character that evades him as a human is evident in his work ethics, while he was playing on insider scoop from a failing marriage (Tim's first). Apparently Tim's first wife was running selective pieces of evidence in front of Donilla, and I wrote about a single incident to make a point about a whole truth. Published it here, and apparently, it was a large piece of evidence in Tim's ethics investigation. Seems like I talked to the guy from the state investigating the matter for about an hour.
In retrospect, after eating lunch with someone who grew up with her, for about a year, I've begun to think I was played when I had lunch with Tim and his wife that day. That was the last time I ever had a conversation with Tim. I was the perfect chump, and I think I got played.
Sometimes I wonder if the shitty state of Knoxville politics is all my fault. I mean, I've lived here all my life, I followed and been active in local issues all my life. Hell the number one read article here, on Knox Views was calling for a decent bike crossing at Wesley and Kingston Pike, and it got planned and done as fast as these things get planned and done. The power of the press is real.
It's just that, if the most significant thing I've done is advance Tim Burchett's career, then I am a failure. He has turned out to be one of the most despicable people in Knox County history. I completely misjudged Tim's character. I'm sorry.
