We kept hearing loud booms last night and finally went out to investigate. Turned out to be the Alcoa game. They set off fireworks every time Alcoa scores. After the noise went on for a while I said to the Mrs., "geez, sounds like they're scoring at will."

The newspaper says this AM that Alcoa beat Cumberland Gap 68 zip in their first state championship playoff game. The second half was played under "mercy rules" after Alcoa scored 54 in the first half.

Bad time to walk the dog

Yep. We took our dog (who is terrified of fireworks) for a walk at Springbrook Park right at 7 pm last night. The Tornados must have scored at least 5 times in the first quarter. We did fine walking north, briskly, away from the school, but after about the 4th explosion the dog decided, screw this, we're getting the hell out of here. We jogged back to the car. Hopefully he's not traumatized so badly he won't go back there.
