Former conservative talk radio host and blogger Terry Frank has been stirring the pot since winning a special election as Anderson County Mayor.
Most recently, she vetoed a County Commission request for a private act by the state legislature to clarify who has authority for hiring and firing county department heads.
In the middle of all that, the head of the county's jail diversion program resigned, citing a "lack of support from some in the judiciary and the current mayor."
Previously, she came under fire when a commissioner accused her of "double dipping" on travel allowances.
In response, she held a "Truth, Law and the Facts" press conference, in which she stated "People in this county may not like my politics, my dress, my method of tackling problems, my governance, but there is one accusation that will never stick, and that is that I would abuse your tax dollars for my own personal enrichment."
So the question is, if people don't like her politics, her problem solving approach, her governance or even how she dresses, how did she get elected?

Terry Frank is Stacey
Terry Frank is Stacey Campfield's political godmother.
When I wrote the story about his roommate being a convicted sex offender, it was Terry who called me to complain, and I am told that she has been very active in his campaigns.
well that's Stacey in her TV
(in reply to Bbeanster)
well that's Stacey in her TV ad, around 0:25:

I thought she had a C by her name
Conservative - smaller government, which ironically, in Anderson County does have a tremendous amount of support.
The city of Oak Ridge was built and supported by the federal government for years. That support did not extend to the county as a whole. For years Anderson County was the home of the Democratic Party in East Tennessee. Things appear to have changed, now they are talking about engraving In God We Trust into the side of the courthouse.
It's a C thing, not at R thing.
Take DOE out of Anderson.
(in reply to Roscoe Persimmon)
Take DOE out of Anderson. See how much "smaller" govt is loved. It's not a C thing, it's a TP thing.

she's NOT a conservative by any reasonable definition.
Rex Lynch wasn't much better. A whole lot of stupid in Anderson County voters.

"she's NOT a conservative by any reasonable definition"
Amen.
And perhaps it's people not just disliking her "style" of governance. Perhaps her style is not in accordance with local government policy and law.
BBean is right about her and Campfield. Think about that if you think Campfield is good to have in office as a continuing easy target for liberals. Campfield in an executive office would be Frank X 1000.
Rex Lynch did kind of self implode with the truck thing
Not sure what the benefit was of trading trucks as a side business of being the county mayor, but it cost him his job.
Must have been a really nice truck to throw away that position.
In God We Trust
I'm proud of your stand. I voted for you and asked all my family and friends to do the same. You have not let me down. I only hope and pray you know the battle has just now began. Be strong, trust in our Saviour, you will prevail.
Yours in Christ,
