All day, CNN has been looping this disturbing 911 call from a guy who was itching to go shoot some burglars in the yard, citing the recently enacted "castle doctrine" in Texas.
The trouble is, it was a neighbor's yard, not the shotgun toting yahoo's yard. The killings are caught on audio tape. I wonder how the big hero feels today about gunning down a couple of petty thieves over some cheap replaceable junk?
UPDATE: SayUncle factchecks the story.

That guy was clearly a whacko
The killings were premeditated. He even know enough to say they had come into his yard. He thinks he's cute, but death is not cute. The criminals wre not good guys, they were bad guys. But this guy had no right to give them a death sentence, especially with the operator trying to let him know this was a wrong thing to do and help was on the way. He may be found not-guilty in Texas, but this guy is no hero. He's a certainly no role model for young people who might someday want to own a gun.
