I just finished uploading the St. James Session material on to Lynn Point. The link is:
For those not familiar with these sessions, the Brunswick Recording Company came here in 1929 and 1930 and recorded musicians from around the area. Similar to what happened in Bristol and Johnson City. There are a lot of songs you can download and listen to as well as articles dealing with the St. James recordings. I would suggest you watch the Heartland Series episode to get a really good overview. Also read Jack Neely's "the Moan" article which was written by Jack so you know its great.
All of the songs are worth listening to, but Howard Armstrong's two cuts on there are personal favorites. And of course who can resist "Satan is Busy in Knoxville". If this type stuff interests you, check it out. And if anyone sees any errors, of which i'm certain there are some, please contact me through the site. Thanks.

Fascinating! Nice work on an outstanding collection. Props to everyone involved for snagging a little bit of history before it was lost and forgotten, and thanks JB for making it available online.
Thanks Bubba. I'm just glad
Thanks Bubba. I'm just glad that this music was kept from going into a big black hole (thanks Bradley Reeves). Some great stuff there. Wayne Bledsoe is going to do a column about it for the Sunday paper. So, hopefully many people will get to enjoy it. Cause, you know, Satan is busy in Knoxville and it is funny what whiskey will do.
