The Great Resignation or the Great Reshuffling are showing that a lot of people are trying to move up in their employment situation. Higher wages, better jobs, and better working conditions along with low unemployment are making it harder for certain companies to retain workers. In addition, some people have elected to become self-employed.

Companies willing to pay $15+/hour with benefits are winning. Unlike the Dollar Tree here in Alcoa offering $8.35/hr for part-time managers. They can barely keep the store open. More often than not the shelves are not stocked, unopened boxes are lining the aisles.

According to ZipRecruiter, the average hourly wage for a Dunkin Donuts team member is $10/hour. Approximately $387/week or $1,677/month. The South Knoxville store may pay more. A Franchisee owns the store. Or, maybe some of the workers wanted to sleep late on Sunday.

A survey of more than 9,500 nurses by the UK's Royal College of Nursing published late last year found that 57% of respondents were thinking about leaving their jobs or actively planning to leave. The top reasons given were feeling undervalued and feeling exhausted."

Could be dangerous for the healthcare industry. I've seen this here in Knoxville. Healthcare workers are unhappy with the situation and how they are being treated. Unhappy on how they are being treated by patients. People who do not appreciate how hard they worked during the pandemic. Very sad.
