WATE: Knoxville job fair attracts hundreds of seniors
At the job fair, local employers were looking for everything from grocery store cashiers to home health care companions.More than 200 seniors turned out to comb the local market. Most of them say it's because their dollars just don't stretch as far as they used to.
Vera Morgan, 77, retired from the U.S. Air force. She's worked at least three part time jobs since retiring.
This ain't right. People who worked years for pensions that have been pissed away on stupid investments by pension fund managers, voter approved entitlements that don't keep up with inflation, youngsters who aren't willing to pull their weight on Social Security, etc. etc.
These aren't "American values."

Who wrecked our country and tried to do a lot more
No, they're not. If the GOP had its way all of the New Deal would be gone, dead, and buried. As it is, they just killed enough of it to perhaps do irreparable damage. Every time you look at the Dow avg stuck for the last ?? years, remember that Junior wanted to junk Social Security and tie everyone's retirement to the stock market.
It just goes on and on. Now, even Scotty McClellan might agree: Why does the GOP hate American Values?
the children
To borrow a GOP phrase from the 90s:
"Won't someone think of the children?"
Where will the kids get summer jobs now?
Does this mean local businesses will no longer oppose year-round school?
What of our newly minted graduates?
Where will they find work?
I've got questions!
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."
Hunter S. Thompson
American Values
What are our American Values?
By the time you and I retire, we will be down to 3 employees for every retired person. I believe the number is 12 workers per one retired today.
Of the three who are working, one will be a high school drop out; one will need remedial education after high school and only one will graduate from college.
America needs to value education.
