Ah thanks, at last an accolade, thanks for the link. Any more?..
"Obviously, it's a big loss to us," White House deputy press secretary Dana Perino told the Associated Press news agency. "He's a great colleague, a good friend, and a brilliant mind. He will be greatly missed."
"He will continue to be one of the president's greatest friends," she added.
Leaving for the sake of his
Leaving for the sake of his family. Next month he'll be back to work on the Thompson campaign?
Out for real
I don't think he'll be working on any campaigns in 2008. Remember, he isn't just a Macchievellan-for-hire. He's been a Bush confidante for 15 years, going back to Texas. His whole ambition has been to use Bush to create a permanent conservative Republican majority. That didn't turn out so well and I don't see him hitching on to some other mediocre also-ran like Fred Thompson with whom he has no relationship. He's out for real and America can breathe a little easier today.
Maybe he will go the Newt
Maybe he will go the Newt Gingrich post-congressional life route. Although he seems a little dry for television and public speaking in general.
I think...
Rove will stay in the loop but behind the scenes. I figure him to pick up some hugely profitable job in a lobbying firm. His personal goal at this juncture will be to get filthy rich.
Will he work openly for a candidate? If he thinks he can get him elected I think he will.

Good Riddance, Rove
Good riddance, Rove. Hope the screen door hits you on your buttocks on the way out. Certainly hope you get indicted for perjury at a later date. I think the rube resigned to save the president & country further embarrassment. In my view, Rove's a fellow traveler with folks like Libby.
