None Of The Above is not on the ballot
Does anybody in their right mind think that a pure "progressive" candidate can be elected to fill Zach Wamp's seat?
It's either Flowers or (probably) Robin-the-Birther Smith. Pick your poison.
Sadly, true.

When I sat with Paula Flowers I heard something different on the health care side. She did say she would not vote for the bill as she knew it because several of the same flaws that worried Dennis Kucinich. At the same time I know enough inside baseball to understand some of her other positions even though I don't like them. On the whole she is a great candidate who will go far in counteracting the Tennessee politicians are C street yokels meme. She'll be a player in short order if we can get her elected.

Paul Flowers has the strongest resume' of any candidate I've seen in a long, long time. Both academically (master's in environmental engineering, law degree from UT with high honors), and professionally (successful careers in law and engineering and a well-regarded stint in Bredesen's administration), she's got the Right Stuff.
Plus, she's a Good Ol' Girl in the best sense of the term (worked at the Dairy Queen in Monterey to put herself through undergrad, married with three kids).
And I can personally attest, having watched her represent the folks who were swindled by the former owner of the Halls Memory Gardens, that she's a relentless, canny streetfighter. And she didn't charge them a penny.
I got no problems with smart, honorable, diligent and courageous.
Of course, she's not a reformed drug dealer/user and has probably never lived in a religious commune, so her chances are probably slim.

Yep, she's clearly the most qualified candidate in that race. Unfortunately, that a $3 will get you a cup of Starbucks in TN. Hopefully voters will wise up this time.
