"Another prime piece of Cumberland Avenue property has changed hands as the "Strip" continues a massive transformation."

"The part of a strip mall housing Panera Bread, located at 2000 Cumberland Ave., was sold April 18 for $3.3 million, according to Knox County property records."

"The new owner is Knoxville TN 2000 Cumberland Properties KP6 LLC, which shares an address associated with Core Spaces, the Chicago-based student housing developer taking over Cumberland to build $530 million apartments with about 2,300 beds."

Definitely a massive transformation. Is there anything guiding this transformation to leave some character to the area? Make it better? One thing I've noticed through the years around the University of Tennessee Knoxville, less and less green space.
