Sarcasm much?
Go read it again.
I did. It's poorly done if
(in reply to cg)
I did. It's poorly done if that's what it is. I could change the title of the thread to "McElroy is Blithering". Would that work?
I took it as a sarcastic
I took it as a sarcastic commentary on our misplaced reactions.
Exactly
(in reply to CathyMcCaughan)
Or at least the reactions of the Ramsey/Harwell/Casada crowd
Bad editor, no wonder the paper is in the toilet
Looked like a stooge piece to prop Haslam's decision up for the time being, but day in and dayout, foreign immigration is actually a role for the federal government, not the state government and while Haslam has the right idea, I'm not sure he has the legal authority to involve the state in the conversation.
Likewise, I'm sure McElroy was at one point in time a pretty good writer, decent reporter, but in my opinion his objectivity, news judgment, and journalistic integrity is shot, and why people continue to subscribe to or ready anything in the KNS is well beyond me.
I dn't knowwhehrto laugh or cry
If you can't tell sarcasm from serious maybe you're not smart enough to read the paper. If you're not smart enough to read the paper maybe you shouldn't be commenting on quality, journalistic integrity and other things you don't understand.
McElroy is part of Haslam PR and spin cycle
In my opinion, he chimes in for all things Haslam time and time again.
In my opinion, Gannett has no need for the Haslam Friday newspaper give away, their PR and spin cycle, the numerous minions in and around city or county government that bow down to all things Haslam and the KNS should have a new editor and a new publisher hopefully by Easter, 2016 and a fresher perspective of what the news and journalistic items should be for East Tennessee.
