So,
the dismissal of Clark was simply a dick move?
If the intent was to shut it down, why not just do that?
BTW, today's KNS headline; "Karns man fights cancer with organic juice and grape seed extract"
It's one thing to regurgitate troglodytic editorials, but you're really going to start killing the body along with the brain now KNS? How can it be that all that change and turnover at the metal shed only results in a shittier product?
Irresponsible
(in reply to Average Guy)
It's nice that the subject in the "Karnes Man" story is doing better than expected, but it's irresponsible journalism to report on the Grape Seed thing with an unsubstantiated and grossly unscientific inference that it had any effect whatsoever on the man's illness.
Aside from there being no scientific evidence supporting this application of a supposed cure-all, if you search up the author of the grape cure book mentioned in the article, you'll find she wasn't exactly an adherent of any sort of scientific or intellectual rigor, or even human decency. I'll spare the details because I have no desire for aspersions to be cast on the Karnes family in the report.
Yes, it's a heartwarming human interest story about an undoubtedly nice man surviving against the odds. Unfortunately, this kind of uncritical reporting can lead other poor souls out there to take inspiration and rely on grape seeds and grape juice for a cure, but when they die anyway, no one will write a human interest story about that.
As a result, because there are no testimonials from the people who unsuccessfully tried the grape cure, an article like this only adds to the internet trail of self-selected anecdotes that give the impression that it works.
At least grape juice probably doesn't hurt anyone, but some people out there who read these things will, unlike the man in this story, decide to skip the chemo and just go with grapes instead. It's those folks who will be most hurt by this.
I wish the man only the best,
(in reply to Somebody)
but I would have to think the paper of record has seen the same articles on their customers that I have; (link...)
Roughly six in ten people only read the headlines.
Just like I did on this story. Just like every other Google or Facebook ad I see selling some sort of snake oil. As a member of the sea monkey generation, I've grown accustomed to junk, just didn't expect to see it as a headline.
