GOP TV commercial blasts Ford's values, claims Playboy party
By BONNA de la CRUZ
Staff WriterIn what may be the most provocative advertisement in the U.S. Senate race, the moral values of Harold Ford Jr. are questioned in a new commercial that asks "what kind of man" is he if he attends parties with lingerie-clad Playboy Playmates while he also films political ads in a church.
Republican opponent Bob Corker separated himself from the commercial by the National Republican Senatorial Committee on Tuesday. He said he had not seen the ad but said questioning Ford's moral values was "off limits to me."
It's off limits, but he's allowing his party to run this ad in his name? Wow. That's pretty breathtaking.
Interesting the RNC's trying to take the high ground on sexual morality, but I'm sure this ad was formulated before the events of the past week.

he's allowing his party to run this ad in his name?
Is he really? Does it say "I'm Bob Corker, and I approved this message."
I'm guessing he'd prefer to steer clear of that particular tactic, given the video of one of his daughters that was making the rounds a while back.

It certainly isn't unFord ;-)

This is the same NRSC who came out with the Fancy Ford website way back in March.

As a refresher, "fancy man" is old Southern slang for "pimp."
The NRSC is reminding the white voters of Tennessee that this black man is hanging around with beautiful, scantily clad white women.
The subtext is pretty apparent -- Ford is getting above himself, living in a manner to which he's not entitled.
How dare he raise money in Hollywood and hang out with white women. How dare he smoke expensive cigars. How dare he arrive anywhere in a limo. How dare he drink champagne.

Maybe Tom Ingram can organize the SuperCampaign
Squander Corker's campaign funds on himself, take credit for everything and responsibility for nothing, perhaps even open Manhattan's in the Old City for the 10th time.
Seriously, if Corker goes down (which he will), Alexander is out of a job in two years in a Presidential election cycle election and Bredesen, John Tanner, Houston Gordon, or Willie Herenton could all take on Alexander and feel comfortable with their chances.

How dare he raise money in Hollywood and hang out with white women. How dare he smoke expensive cigars. How dare he arrive anywhere in a limo. How dare he drink champagne.
How dare he try to represent a Southern state in the U.S. Senate.
I would imagine this isn't the worst we're going to see out of Rove and co., even if they are hopelessly distracted by PageGate.
