The dogwoods are absolutely gorgeous this year, as pretty as I recall in a while. Today is a perfect day to see them. The dogwoods are at their peak and the weather is supposed to take a turn for the worse tomorrow. Here are some from our neighborhood.

(If you're out in Blount Co., take a quick detour down Hunt Rd. south/west from the airport. It's a mini one-street dogwood trail with some beautiful gardens.)

I think you are correct

I think you are correct about this being the most scenic season in several years. I was riding on Cherokee Boulevard this evening and it was spectacular.

I'd rather be cycling.

I miss those blooms! California has other lovely things, but the dogwoods are in my soul and I miss them!

I don't remember a recent spring when the dogwoods have remained so beautiful for so long.

The pink dogwoods seem

The pink dogwoods seem particularly nice this year, I usually don't care for them.

tulips

Tulips have been great this year too. The festival was good and mostly sunny. I really liked the acoustic group Just Krossing that played on Market Square on Sat. I'd never heard them before.

I agree. The cool weather must have helped. I particularly remember how hot the April of '04 was, in sharp contrast. (Just weather, though. Not climate.)
