As reported by the Maryville Daily Times in February, 2022, a property owner sold all the land housing the Thornhill Mobile Home Community for $1.7 million. Now, the nearly 40 families are being evicted by the new owner/realtor.

One resident has lived there 30 years. Another 85 year old resident has lived there 37 years. There is a single father with 3 kids who has lived there 7 years. Etc...

Legal Aid of Tennessee is communicating with the residents.

A very sad situation. It's expensive to move a mobile home. Rents are at an all time high.

These families need a benefactor to help them out. They could buy the property from the current owner and continue with the current Thornhill Mobile Home Community. Or, maybe something could be worked out with Blount County. There is a 17 acre plot just a block away that is empty except for the Blount County Animal Center where a new mobile home community could be created. Or....
