Revised predictions for Hurricane Matthew's path have it moving northwest towards the coast of Florida before turning north and possibly making landfall in South Carolina.

It is a massive storm that was a Category 5 hurricane at one point, but has weakened to a Category 3 with sustained winds of 125 MPH. Hurricane force winds extend 40 miles outward from the eye, and tropical storm force winds extend 160 miles outward. Some strengthening is expected over the next two days and it could rake the Florida coast Thursday night.

Officials in Florida and South Carolina have activated the National Guard and are on standby for mass evacuations. Florida residents along the coast are being urged to leave early if they can.

Haiti and Cuba have suffered catastrophic damage caused by Category 4 winds, massive amounts of rainfall and coastal flooding.

Spotted these last night at the Hampton Inn on Alcoa Hwy. There were a bunch more around back. We saw some of the guys and asked if they were going to Florida. They were, and said they hoped folks down there would take care of them. They are coming from Ohio.
