On Monday Knox County Commission will make a decision to appropriate or not, $7,500,000 of your tax dollars to begin work on the Midway Road Industrial Park. This is money Knox County does not have.
This should be an insult to every resident. This issue was not properly placed on the agenda for public discussion and there is a pending lawsuit due to improperly changing the East Knox Sector Plan. When the commission is working for the good of the county it should not have to be sneaky to do it. Only these developers stand to gain from this industrial venture.
Lets finish the high school for 2300 as planned, give teachers a raise comparable to surrounding counties and fund the Sherriff's Department's pension. Use our tax dollars wisely so we don't have to pay to throw our trash in the bin.

Have to agree with you there...
I can't see Knox County needing a new industrial park anyway, don't the ones we have already have less than full occupancy? Why build a new one that will just sit empty, when we can't even sell industries on the ones we already have? This industrial park is just a gigantic waste of money by the county PTB (powers that be). why not fund some of the things we are already obligated to pay for? If the county PTB actually did that, I might not be so upset about them ignoring the term limits thing and stuff like that. As it stands though, it looks like the elected officials of both parties are just the same old corrupt GOBs that they always were.

Need another reason to pick
Need another reason to pick up the phone and call your Knox County Commissioner about the Midway Industrial Park?
Here is a good one. The Chairman his own bad self approves and applauds the Midway Industrial Park.
You can find the phone numbers for your local Knox County Commissioner here.
If Brian Hornback thinks this is a great idea to do with your money what does that tell you? Pick up the phone and have a chat with your County Commissioner today.
The words of wisdom from Brian Hornback:
What An Idiot
Hornback doesn't know what he's talking about. All of the people who are suing live right in the Midway community, and most of them have property that actually touches the proposed park.
And he says Knox County is not strapped for cash . . . what color is the sky in Brian's world?
He goes on to say that folks East drive to Peters Road or Pellissippi to work - doesn't he know about the TWO industrial parks we have in East Knox already . . . that have plenty of available space by the way.
Let's put an industrial park in Brian's back yard and see how happy he is about it then.
At least he won't be Chairman much longer . . . he's pulled too many embarassing stunts and the GOB's are over it and ready for a change.
Hypocrites or cowards?
You can see here that the Chairman is just like Mayor Mike Ragsdale. No debate for you. While both Mayor Ragsdale and Brian Hornback have a "Bring it on" attitude the truth is neither of them will allow questions.
The only way in this County those questions can be asked is in a lawsuit. Like this on here.
What do you call people that always yammer about how important debate is and then go to great lengths to make sure there is no debate?
