Ford won her Tennessee Senate seat by 13 votes. An investigation into the shenanigans at the polls revealed 12 improper ballots.
The Senate voted to kick her out of office because of "incurably uncertain" results.
First of all, we don't even know who was voted for by the 12 improper voters. Second, toss them out, Ford is still the winner.

The laws of arithmetic
The laws of arithmetic haven't changed have they? What am I missing?
Yes, they've changed. In 2000. You must have missed the new "Bush v. Gore and the State of FL" arithmetic, which was confirmed by the "People of Ohio v. Diebold/Bush" arithmetic in 2004.
Our "representative democratic republic" is so seriously broken on so many levels that I fear for the future of America. But at least I'm armed.
Your arithmetic is correct...
about the confirmed 12 dead voters. But there were so many shenanigans in that one precinct, it calls into question all the votes from it. I seem to remember a poll worker who signed the results despite being a few hundred miles away that day, among other things.
Has anyone seen the
Has anyone seen the investigative report? On the web?
Thanks,
SC
As I understand it, more
As I understand it, more than 12 votes have been found. There was a media report in the Commercial Appeal here that indicates that 13 votes had been found (http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/midsouth_news/article/0,1426,MCA_1497_4611805,00.html), which is the margin of error. Also, the previously reported number - 12 - does not include those who failed to respond to registration inquiries sent out by the Senate committee investigating the election for the purpose of validating residency. I believe there are over 40 people who failed to respond verifying their residency.
Not that all of that is going to matter -- the case will be in litigation until the November election, which will more than likely go to Ophelia Ford - this time by a pretty substantial margin due to a better turnout concurrent with the Senate elections.
