Republican Gary Loe has named Joe Fuhr as treasurer for his campaign in the State House 18th District Republican primary. Fuhr is a retired UTMC professor of pathology and was a member of Bill Haslam's transition team according to a press release.

Steve Hall is also running in the House 18th Republican primary. Sam Alexander is the only candidate for the Democratic primary.

Stacey Campfield has not picked up a petition for either his current seat in the 18th or for the 7th District Senate seat he claims to be running for.

The Senate 7th District race is already crowded. Steve Hill and former UT Associate General Counsel Ron Leadbetter are seeking the Republican nomination, with Randy Walker and Jon Sharpe on the Democrat side. Chuck Williams will be on the general election ballot as an independent (assuming he turns in his petition).

The candidate qualifying deadline is April 1st.
