The annual Leonid Meteor Shower is expected to be at its peak between 1 AM and dawn Tuesday with as many as 20 to 30 meteors per hour visible locally. Skies are clear at my place just now. Let's see what happens later.

Thanks Randy for the photo advice. If I can get my wrinkled old backside out of bed that early, I'm going to try a few shots. The article suggests about 4 AM for the best viewing.

Watched for fifteen or

Watched for fifteen or twenty minutes starting a little after 5AM. Saw two faint meteors. Scattered cloud cover moving through, lots of light pollution.

It was too hazy out at Whites Creek. I stared up for a while and gave up. Felt good to be outside though.

Saw one.

I was up at 3:45 and spotted one around 4:00. There was scattered cloud cover here too but the morning was surprisingly warm.

That makes me feel better.

I got up at 5:00 and saw one pretty one streak across the sky. Guess I didn't miss much by sleeping the extra hour. (I made a wish, too.)
