Overheard at Italian Market & Grill:
Teen girl: Jesus, I love omelets.
Teen boy: I don't think Jesus would've approved of omelets.
Teen girl: Why not?
Teen boy: Because of the ham. Jews don't eat ham.
Teen girl: He wasn't a Jew, He was a Christian. His name is Jesus H. Christ, not Jesus H. Jew. God, you're so stupid.
Happy Rosh Hashanah.

H?
I wonder if she has an opinion on what the H stands for?
We're doomed.

We're doomed. Your are
We're doomed.
Your are kidding of course but some people believe that. Take any average teenager at any point in time and they will do or say incredibly stupid things. I did. Odds are everyone else did too. The hope is that if they live through their teen years they become adults and do less stupid things over time. The sad thing is the ones that never grow up. They can make a mess of things. Somehow they gravitate to politics.
Yes, I'm kidding.
ot- does the H actually stand for something or is it just one of those things?
I don't use that particular colloquialism, or is it a blasphemy?

does the H actually stand
Wikipedia has some pretty goofy speculations on the subject.

Thanks. It was an interesting read.

Ah, Les, one of my favorites is there:

"Mother of Pearl! What fiendish plot will they resort to next?"
My wife told a story about
My wife told a story about another student at community college. This young lady was planning on some sort of missionary life after she got her degree, and was a member of the Church of Christ or similar denomination. Apparently, she had a problem with Catholics. Why? Because according to her, the Catholics killed Jesus.
Swear to God. I know you won't believe me.
Are American parents just lousy bowlers?
A friend* once likened the raising of a child to bowling with the first teen year being the foul line. The parent/bowler must do everything possible to properly aim the ball ahead of that line because, after that, he or she can only cringe and watch should it land in the gutter.
A lot of American parents are apparently just lousy bowlers.
*Neither of us is a parent or a bowler.

I remember an old song I was exposed to when I young. There was a line in it about "what's the matter with kids today?"
WBIR's web site has this article that some kid will find challenging to explain.
