Please, please make sure you get out and vote today in this last day for City Mayor and Council. The word is out that there are some county folks trying to influence the city election by running people to the polls, and we need everyone possible to get to the polls and not assume anything. Very interesting to watch who is hauling early voters at the five polling places. Low-turnout elections can have unintended consequences, and the City of Knoxville needs to make sure to elect its own.
In my personal opinion, Bill Haslam has done an excellent job in moving Knoxville forward and deserves another four years at the helm. I say that as someone who supported Madeline Rogero four years ago.
Please go vote. TODAY! Extended hours until 8 pm tonight!
UPDATED. A friend just shared with me an interesting thought. Don't forget, if you expect service from your government, but then fail to vote, you're not holding up your part of the bargain and cease to have representative government.
Any qualified City of Knoxville Voter can vote early now until Sept. 20 for the City of Knoxville Primary Election. Vote from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Sundays) at any of these five Early Voting Centers: County Courthouse, Five Points Village Plaza Shopping Center, Northgate Plaza Shopping Center, 235 W. Young High Pike, or Downtown West Shopping Center. For the last three days of Early Voting, Sept. 18-20, there will be extended hours 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all centers.

The word is out that there
The word is out that there are some county folks trying to influence the city election by running people to the polls
But the folks who vote in city elections are city people, aren't they?
They're not shuttling voters in from Karns and Ritta, or am I missing something?
why would county folk be
why would county folk be hauling otherwise disinterested city folk to the polls in a city election? I'm sure they're doing it just to encourage civic duty, not influence the outcome of a particular race. right?
The word is out that there
Pray, tell. Who is
