Knox County Election Commission Election Results
Knox County election results from WATE.
Gloria Johnson won her primary to run for U.S. Senate against Marsha. I was a tad worried since Marquita Bradshaw ran again and her name is alphabetically at the top of the list. Who know how Democrats vote. Gloria also won the primary for Tennessee House of Representatives District 90.
Jane George running for U.S. House of Representatives District 2, against Burchett, got 25,899 votes. That's something. Burchett only got 54,602 votes. Heh.
A Republican won the Knox County District 9 County Commission seat, South Knoxville. We have to wonder if the Independent candidate hurt the Democratic candidate. If the voters who selected the Independent voted Democratic the Democratic candidate would have one. Keep that in mind ya'll when voting for President. Don't want to elect the MAGA man.

Board of Ed, Second District
I saw outrage on FB last night that Jennifer Owen, incumbent BOE rep in the Second District who had run as an independent, lost her race to newcomer Anne Templeton, who ran as a Dem.
The outrage was that Templeton has her child/children enrolled in a private school locally.
This is my district, but I hadn't realized that, either, and I do agree it should have (unofficially) disqualified Templeton for this position as policymaker for our public school system.
Disclaimer
You probably wonder that I, as closely as I followed public ed issues for 20 years, hadn't known this, either. My disclaimer is that I haven't followed public ed issues much at all in recent years, especially since my daughter left KCS (and the teaching profession) in 2021.
She and I both consider public ed in TN to now be a lost cause, for several years now.
