Cawood, Cawood and Cawood
I am intrigued by another Cawood vying for what must now be "the Cawood seat" on County Commission. It appears that Chris Cawood will be qualified to at least run for the office. The paper has this quote:
In 2002, the state Court of Criminal Appeals reversed a Roane County conviction against Chris Cawood for soliciting sex from a female client in exchange for his legal counsel.
And he says that he did not know for sure if Sharon would be running for the seat. So why does he think she quit her other job with the county... This will certainly be an interesting race.
I think Chris's wife is a
I think Chris's wife is a marriage and family therapist.
Cawood Missteps
Sharon Cawood is the only female of 19 commissioners. She holds a master's degree and has considerable experience in business. She should be in the cat bird's seat for election in 08.
Yet there seems to be some dysfunctional dynamic at play that could enable the Republican Party to reclaim this suburban seat.
* Mark Cawood takes a bailiff's job for the Sheriff.
* Sharon Cawood takes, then quits, a county job for Cathy Quist.
* Chris Cawood, 60, comes home to run for the same seat.
* Sharon tacks a course on Commission that could best be called Lumpy Lite, and gets outed for spending more on stationery than all other commissioners combined.
Can this commissioner be saved? Yes, but hurry.
1. New Job. That's happened. Sharon now works for Welcome Wagon in the private sector.
2. Independent identity. Step up with true leadership on ONE issue. Pick one.
3. Dump Lump. Lambert is arguably the weakest link of the Commission paper-chain. He was elected solely because he was perceived as the anti-Ragsdale candidate. Keep that issue, but flee -- run away -- from Lumpy and his other zany issues.
4. Skip downtown events. Stay in Powell and Karns, work the voter lists, campaign in the district every day. -- s.
Chris Cawood
Chris Cawood sounds like a fool saying that a wife shouldn't be enititled to the seat when he's the brother.
