Thank you Sarah Pirkle for this update:.
This wisecrackin kid I used to teach just posted: (404): i hope kanye doesn't show up to patrick swayze's funeral. " i'll let you get back to your funeral in a minute...but michael jackson had the best death of the year. just sayinnn ".
...and his weak ass, defensive "apology" full of self justification also sucked, saying that Taylor Swift's mom was just "playing politics" by trying to drag out the issue by crying with her daughter backstage. He has begun a fundraising effort to ensure that Beyonce's next video will be the greatest of all time.
UPDATE: The real story here is that Beyonce, unlike Kanye or Joe Wilson, is not like school in the summertime and in fact has class all day long.

Kanye West
Kanye is a very young man who feels very strongly about issues and therefore due to lack of experience based upon his age, is somewhat implusive, something that many of you will never understand because many of you feel strongly about nothing, but are quick to criticize. I applaud the fact that he can actually have an opinion and expressed it, despite the fact that it was ill placed. What he did was insensitive, rude and not very well thought out in terms of back lash. But what I have just described comes with youthfulness and inexperience, something that many of you had at one time in your life, or you are still grappling with. Kanye is without support and guidance since the loss of his mother and I for one hope that there is someone out there with some common sense and real compassion, that can see that he is crying out for help in his outbursts and will come to his aide and take him under their wing. He is not the first young artist or star that has been in crisis in the public eye and it saddens me to think that so many of you actually enjoy the pain that he and others are obviously experiencing in their lives. It is unfortunate that his press secretary did not prep him and prepare an apology for him for the Jay Leno show as is done in most cases. He is a strong willed young man who tried to wing it, but of course under the scrutiny of "haters" for many reasons (i.e. race, wealth, success, brasness, etc.) nothing he could have said would have been acceptable. It saddens me that people in this world act as if they are so perfect and have never stepped one foot wrong. I am not defending his rudness but his humaness and youthfulness. Let's see how perfect all of you are and how your lives turn out. Everyone has an ending to their story. What will be your legacy. Yeah, I know...BOO!
Obama said it best...
...Kanye acted like a jackass. Plain and simple. That's the only reason most people don't like the guy. No one cares how much money he has, or what color his skin is, or what team he roots for, or who he supports for whatever award.
If it was just a single, spontaneous incidence of poor decision-making, that'd be one thing, but West has a long history of childish, bratty behavior - Bonnaroo, the Katrina benefit, the "Jesus" Rolling Stone cover, a LONG list of tantrums at various award shows (add this one to the list as well), and so on. This isn't an isolated incident; Kanye's just a jerk.
As far as his mother is concerned... I hate to say it, but stupid just seems to run in Kanye's family. I'm sorry for his loss, but the fact remains that Donda West was advised against the cosmetic surgery for fear of her life AND SHE STILL HAD IT ANYWAY. She'd still be here were it not for the boob job.
It sucks that he lost his mom, and it obviously doesn't weigh lightly on his soul, but the fact remains that decision-making abilities don't appear to run strong in that bloodline. Maybe he'd be wiser to look at his mother's death as a lesson in the consequences of poor decision-making, instead of continuing to use the tragedy as a crutch for his idiotic behavior.
At any rate, nothing gives West a free pass for the repeated asinine behavior and trying to make excuses for it really doesn't help matters.
Kanye is 32 years old for
Kanye is 32 years old for goodness sake, plenty old enough to know better. Don't try to excuse his conduct. He well deserves to be ridiculed.
Not to mention that he had his mother...
up until a couple of years ago and I feel sure that she raised him better than the way he acted at those awards and in other venues. He was being an ass, pure and simple.

No free passes for rudeness...
Just because he spoke the truth about one thing does not always make him right or GIVE him the right to act like a straight up ass to other people all the time. In this instance, he was an ass. And his mother raised him better than that, as he himself has admitted...perhaps you are the one who needs to "get over it"...
