Wow!
That wasn't just some blog post or e-mail the guy wrote...
an actual newspaper printed it!
McCain's brother also said
McCain's brother also said Northern VA is "communist country."
(link...)
My partner, who lives in
My partner, who lives in Woodbridge, VA (for the tourist... Potomac Mills area) and works in Fairfax County will find this quite amusing.
Perhaps I'll call him "Comrade Sweetheart" sometime.
Good!
The guy's just a d*ckhole.
He got repudiated, he made a public and possibly sincere apology, and he resigned.
Those seem to me like good things.
The guy didn't become a
The guy didn't become a racist asshole overnight, so the question is why be associated with this kind of person?
what was he doing before he was imprudent enough to come out in the light of day, and are we supposed to believe the McCain campaign didn't know what he was?
Pardon me if I doubt the sincerity of his apology. As an off-white person who grew up here, I've had the misfortune of knowing way too many people like him, most of them Republicans( in recent years). The GOP hasn't been the Party of Lincoln for a long, long time. My Granddaddy Bean would be ashamed of what his party has become.
Yeah.
The campaign shoulda known. After all, the guy's name is Bobby Lee. I know I'm not surprised.
So you believe that his
So you believe that his op-ed piece in the local newspaper was uncharacteristic of him? A shock and a surprise to his friends and political cohorts, who would never, ever have had reason to expect him to say stuff like that? And that they'd never have had him around if they'd suspected he was a bigot?
upon reconsideration
bobbylife is a troll, and it's a waste of time responding to it. It has lots of time on its hands and is here to defend each and every charge leveled at the McCain campaign.
I'm done.
You are being serious, right?
Yep. That about sums me up, bbeanster.
Here's your most germane insinuation:
You have evidence to suggest otherwise?
Should they vet all their local people? Sure. Are people gonna slop through the holes? Sure. Did they handle it correctly when this one did? Seems like it to me.
If you can show that they knew the guy was a pig and let him go on, bring it. I'll be among the first to agree with you that the campaign faulted.
If you can't do any better than you have above, that's okay too. I mean, I think it's pretty weak, but the standards for keeping the natives amused here are pretty f'n low...
