As you've probably heard, Rep. William Jefferson has been indicted on some pretty serious charges. Facing South has some interesting background.
Democrats in Congress need to clean house and send a message that the Culture of Corruption is over and will no longer be tolerated. While presumed innocent at this point, Jefferson should be thinking about how the people in his district can best be served, and whether he will be able to do so effectively. Tom Delay resigned when he was indicted.

I agree with you on this
I agree with you on this one. Both sides need to clean up their act. We should be able to have both sides of the aisle without the smut in there on BOTH sides. Most of these guys are so out of touch with the people that the political environment has greatly changed.

Money in the freezer?
Money in the freezer? Yikes.
Isn't this the guy who
Isn't this the guy who commandeered a national guard truck to take him out to his house outside New Orleans to move a bunch of his stuff a day or two after Katrina hit? Given what they found in his DC freezer, one might speculate he wasn't concerned about the couch in New Orleans.
This guy is a world class
This guy is a world class dirt bag and should resign.
Failing that, he should be kicked out.
Oh excuse me, the money in the fridge?
What can you say about wads of bills wrapped in aluminum foil and then stuffed into Chinese take-out boxes or plastic Tupperware containers? It seems this guy was caught cold. He's a disgrace. He ought to be thrown out fast, and no one should defend him because of his color. Greed, just as goodness, knows no color. The facts aren't all in, but I'd say it would take a miracle to prove the wads in the fridge were just there for a couple of hours waiting for what? Until the bank opened? I don't think so...
Isn't this the guy who
Yes, we're aware that some Democrats are corrupt, and at least we acknowledge as much. We're out front on the issue, matter of fact.
I can find where we denounced this clown before, but I'm having trouble locating your posts where you were struck with grave concern over Republican corruption. Could you point me in that direction, please?

thank you
thank you RN - I was wondering if this topic would be broached here and I see you stepped-up-to-the-plate
We can all agree on this
Can you imagine a district reelecting him? If he is allowed to I'll bet you he is reelected for gettig his. After all don't they all do it? This is the attitude that honest members of both parties must address. Crooks are crooks new laws, reports, and ethical training is going to make a crook honest. These rules do nothig but make honest people look over their shoulder and as long as there is cash offered and a willing taker the problem will always exist. The solution starts at the ballot box by doing our homework and electing an honest person. If we are proven wrong, that's what the next election is for.
