If you want one of these executive branch jobs in the Obama administration you'll first have to answer these questions.
Why do I get the feeling Sarah Palin wasn't vetted this thoroughly? They even want to know about all your websites, blog posts and online comments, and all your online aliases and screen names. Haywood Jablome and Hugh G. Rection need not apply.

Transparency is a good thing.

Something tells me Team Obama isn't going to be assigning Joe Biden the task of walking this one back.
Wow, he'll know more about
Wow, he'll know more about employees then the American people know about him.
Somebody suggested why not
Somebody suggested why not ask: "Do you or any members of your immediate family know a terrorist? If so, provide complete details about the individual. Has the terrorist ever attacked people or federal buildings?"
Or...
Or: "Do you believe in Hell"?
Or:
Or: "Are you willing to deny & mock reality in order to justify your actions?"

Good dodge. Is your application in? When are you heading to Washington?
It would have help to have
Hey, they are still considering Hillary.
First, I really don't get
First, I really don't get this continuing fascination with the ticket that lost the election. It is over, Obama won and why would anyone continue to talk about it?
Second, if this is what they are going to do and stick with it then this should be a good thing for the Obama administration but I do ask, what would Obama's answers be? The transparency that will become a standard, if this is what they do will be a good thing for the running of the federal government but I also have to ask are they going to shortchange their staffing if someone has something minor in their history but has great credentials? Still, the focus on transparency will be quite good and the tradeoff may well be worth it.
I come to this site a few times a week as I consider myself a moderate when it comes to politics so I fail to understand why so many that voted for Obama are seemingly focused on Palin. I mean, good grief, Obama won and now the focus should be on the transition and the very serious issues facing our nation. The VP-elect was honest and quite correct about how the world will test Obama and are we going to be carrying on like Clinton and the Republicans were and take our focus off the ball or support our President, following his example of bipartisanship or act like a very immature child over Palin? It is these comments about the losing candidate that have moderates like me scared because your focus really is all wrong if Palin is in your sites.
I did not say anything about
I did not say anything about George Bush, but about Palin. Why would you write what I will tell my grandkids about Bush? I have read some of your posts since I began posting here and to be honest about it, many are either disturbing because of your need to hate or outright dishonest in their facts. I look at the Bush Presidency with mixed feelings as many of policies are bad but this nation has not been attacked for over seven years. So, I just think it is time for a change and that perhaps we will need to let history judge him. After all, as I was reading in a magazine last week when President Truman left office, his "approval ratings" were at 22%, much lower than Bush has at present, and yet history has been kind to Truman. In the meantime, why do you not find something in your life that will allow you to be a little less angry and hateful? You know, that is what causes these people like that man who shot up that church this summer to do what he did, all that hate is no good for anyone.
...this nation has not been
No major elephant stampedes either. But Bush did start a war that had nothing to do with 9/11 and has killed many more Americans than 9/11 did as well as tens or hundreds of thousands of others, plus millions who have been displaced, close to a trillion $ of our money spent, etc.
And who was president on that day 7 years ago? Why the freebie, when he was sworn to protect us then, not just after an attack? If we're attacked next September, who will you blame, Obama or Bush?
...You know, that is what causes these people like that man who shot up that church this summer to do what he did,...
No, that comes from a sick individual being fed a constant stream of hate over many years from "upstanding" mainstream media targeting "Real Americans" with a drumbeat message that all problems are caused by the other political side and that a dispute over the right to acquire weaponry is a fundamental reason for the hate. Amid frequently hearing virtual calls to arms, these disturbed individuals--who can't ever get the attention they truly need under a GOP system--lose the ability to distinguish between figurative language and literal.
First, as with 9/11, I would
First, as with 9/11, I would blame the terrorists who did it. When we look back throughout the 90's, even the 80's, why is it that Americans are never willing to assign blame where it belongs? Neither Reagan, Bush-1, Clinton, or Bush-2 are responsible for these attacks on Americans, those who do it are and no one else. In war, and why that our Congress has been nervous about saying we are in a way is unexplicable, there are casualties and while you and others can grieve about how many non-Americans are allegedly dead, even if they are that is how is goes when protecting America. Would have complained over dead Japanese in WWII? Taking our sight off of the focus of those out to kill us and making all kinds of wrong comments is why there is this hate in America. In the 1990's, as morally bankrupt as Bill Clinton was, the Congress (then controlled by the GOP) was so focused on him and Clinton so focused on covering up his illegal and immoral acts that no one was looking at the terrorists. We need to stop this nonsense of wanting to make outrageous statements about the President or Congress and push them for what they are going to end terrorism.
Second, the hate you are spewing now is no different from that man from this summer and since he is probably mentally ill anyhow please stop making wrong comparisons. There are millions of American citizens who watch various tv news and how you can make a leap of those who watch tv being killers is ridiculous. Do you promote that kids watching video games will be killers too? Finger pointing does nobody any good when it is all about who can scream the loudest. That is one reason why anyone who watches those cable shows are just silly because that is all they do and I can go to a ballgame to hear that nonsense.
Look a little deeper.
While it is true that the terrorists were the only one who performed the act, turning a blind eye to the root causes, the lead-up, and the missed opportunities is just stupid.
I'll say that again- stupid.
That's been the main problem with our outgoing president and his administration for eight years- a lethal lack of curiosity and ambition to fix things. The country as a whole suffers from a deadly lack of introspection. Introspection has been made to be an unpatriotic act. Any kind of doubt or self-examination is political suicide. "We can do no wrong" is up there with "what's good for GM is good for America." Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Terrorists don't hate our freedom. And they're really not that jealous over our lifestyle. Go to the library and find a book called My Year Inside Radical Islam. It's a very good book without an agenda that gives a first-person glance inside the mindset. Read Richard Clarke's book about the pre-9/11 government and the presidential transition.
Actually they do hate our
Actually they do hate our freedoms and our lifestyle. This denial of reality by liberals who believe they all love us and of conservatives who think they all hate us is wrong on both parts. Muslim believers on whole may not hate America but do object to what they see as a decadent lifestyle. However, they do cheer on our freedoms and our ideals. Yet, do not kid yourself about the actual terrorists, they do hate us and nothing will ever change that and this ranting against Bush denies how the terror issue is 30 years old. Thus, you are the one that is stupid if you really think this issue is all about Bush.
Other books to read.
1. The A-Qaeda Reader.
2. The Seige of Mecca.
3. The Terrorist Hunter.
I suggest you read all three again before you make such as asinine post again about terrorism.
Good example
It's always good when you can prove your point.
Do you promote that kids
Do you promote that kids watching video games will be killers too?
Probably some of them, yes.
(link...)
Concerned maybe, but very confused
I didn't mean "blame" for launching attacks, of course, just blame for not successfully protecting our country, which you stupidly credited to Bush.
Oh, you're one of those. Everybody deserves what they get for f-ing with the Great U.S. of A.!!! And you dare accuse me of hate. I feel sorry for pathetic types like you. Fortunately, the era of Bush Doctrine arrogance is over.
I am just as bad as a hate crime murderer? Uh, yeah, whatever. My observation, though, was valid. Come back when you can point to any violent hate crimes that were committed by liberal, gun-crazy pacifists. In the mean time, chew on this stat, which immediately makes your side look even more demented.
Ayers, Black Panthers, and
Ayers, Black Panthers, and more. Spare me the righteous diatribe because someone called out you and your liberal horde types. The stuff I have seen on this site rivals any on the web for its virulent hatred of anyone not on the same page as the bulk of members here so yeah, your pushing the same bullshit that you claim drove that murderer over the edge. However, since you are neither a cop, a lawyer on the case, or anyone else associated with it I find it interesting that you and the horde know so much about it and can make your claims about it. It will be a God Almighty wonder if one of the far-left don't try something dangerous against Obama if he does not deliver his much anticipated walkover to the Promised Land. The lies told on this site are the same as any far right one so yeah, I am glad that someone called you out on it. Wish it would have been me is all I can say.
You really like the word
You really like the word "horde", don't you?
Well, it just seems so
Well, it just seems so appropriate for the minions of followers out there now doesn't it?

...with a drumbeat message that all problems are caused by the other political side.
The message coming from purveyors of hate who wrongly place blame in order to further their political war (e.g., Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Liddy, Savage, et. al).
...who can't ever get the attention they truly need under a GOP system.
Meaning the recipients of said hate, some of whom are mentally disturbed enough to act on said blame
Hope this helpps alittle. sORRi!!!!!

"...with a drumbeat message that all problems are caused by the other political side"
It's a little redundant, but you've proven your point again.
Well done.
Dear Mr. Nobody Bailey, I'm
Dear Mr. Nobody Bailey,
I'm sorry we have failed you on your frequent quests here to find a font of peace and love. At least some here have tried on rare occasion (see here and here).
I'm sure you're right that we can try harder to follow the numerous examples you keep setting for us in your comments. Thanks for all you do to make this a better progressive blog.
Hey, I have only made one
Hey, I have only made one post on this thread but who wrote about the other books to read on terrorism picked three good ones. I have read that "Seige of Mecca," written by someone NOT an American, and you would do well to read it. Also, I don't expect any peace and love on this site.
Where's the change?
Hey, there used to be a commercial that asked, "Where's the beef?" Now I would ask Obama, where's the change? How many old Clinton has-beens are gonna run his show? I would think that surely he could have found mostly new talent but I do like that it seems he is going to change little about Bush's focus on security, save for giving more effort to getting bin Laden and al Qaeda. If he does that I say right on but since his first full fledged national security briefing, I do wonder why he has toned down his mouth about Bush so much, imagine that. Add in that he is bringing in two Bush officials for his national security team and wow, what will his devoted loyalists say about that?
