There's a better quote.
There's a better quote.
"This is the big one, Elizabeth! I'm comin' to join ya, honey!"
(And if you don't recognize that, thank you for making me feel old.)
It ain't over till the Evangelical Sexpot smears in tongue
We just returned from a long weekend in Ohio where I was going crazy from being in a virtual blackout from news, the intertubes, and other current events (i.e., the new polls since Palin's dazzling but scary as hell debate performance). The last we saw was that debate, but nothing else till yesterday morning. There was local TV, but we didn't see much of it. Talk about being on pins and needles!
Anyway, the local Ohio public radio station we found yesterday morning on our drive home reported a larger Obama lead than pollster's 4 points. I think he said 9 points, if I heard right. What a relief! Too bad the honorable hero has decided to go out with a scorched earth campaign.
Re Kirk Gibson, I have fond memories of watching that series from my home in L.A. at the time. I actually liked sports back then.
P.S. I find it interesting that this poll (and Slate's too) show only the state of West Virgnia as leaning to McCain. Maybe just a factoid, but wow!
You like that one, take a
You like that one, take a gander at this one.
It's a long way from over, and McCain's slime throwing may work, but I sure feel good about where we are as of today.

In 2004 somebody wrote that if George W. Bush continued to be George W. Bush, there would be no way he could keep his job. But by the grace of Diebold he did.
By continuing to be George W. Bush during his second term has he helped to once again snatch the plum from the grasp of his old 'friend' John McCain?
Time will tell.

A word of caution
Sure, from every angle Barack Obama has this one in the bag.
We first have to have the turnout on election day to clinch. Then there's a little matter of the time between the election and inauguration.
There is the fact that vote fraud has been successful for the Repigs twice now. There is also the fact that if a state of war exists, Bush does not have to relinquish the presidency.
Martial Law Bill
The relevant part is Sec. 1076 about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Well, first, I'm not a "Repuke", I'm a die-hard Democrat.

Get over it yet? I have. Signed one repuke that is rejoicing 11.14.2010 two years later and you look like the turkey................
If I was McCain
McCain can still win..it's a very narrow path but not something that is fantasy.
These states have all gone Republican in the last 2 elections & McCain must make it three in a row in everyone one of them:
Fla,OH,Colo,Mo,NC,Va & Ind
Then win either Nev(Republican last 2) or NM(split last 2).
I think that McCain's wasting his time in Pa & Wis..focus..everything you got on winnable Republican states.money..staff..McCain..Palin 24/7 till election day.
Start talking to hard working Republicans in Republican states that dont like the way it's going & are flirting with voting Obama.
Dont do it..the last time we took a chance on an untested but a good fellow with a nice smile
we got CARTER!
Vote Republican..the future's too important & the stakes too high..to roll the dice!!
Alls I'm talking about is winning in 8 Republican states by a vote for McCain to win.
Looking good but this baby's got more time on the clock & aint over.
Sad
"Vote Republican..the future's too important & the stakes too high..to roll the dice!!"
Good one, bill.
:D :D :D ROTFFLMAO

I can dig the Gibson reference. What a remarkable feat that was.
And being a classy guy, Gibson was man enough to shake hands with the opposition after the game.
