Even in the backward, rural, hick Appalachian school where I misspent twelve formative years, they had a science class or two. And in those classes, they even taught that there was a difference between weather and climate. The former changes all the time; when the latter changes, it's important.

Has this distinction simply been lost? Or has it been systematically blurred by Fox Noise and the rest of the right-wing media machine, along with politicians who profit from environmentally destructive industries?
