Considering the mind-set of the people who wrote the piece, they're probably envisioning "anarchists" as people with non-specific central European accents, twirling their handlebar mustachios, and holding "bombs" that look like bowling balls with a smoldering fuse attached.

I'm with you, and what Keith Olberman said last night -- I don't care if its McCain, Palin, Obama, Biden, or Bob Barr -- hanging an effigy of a candidate is just plain wrong.

Its not on the same scale as a coordinated plot to kill, even if that plot was hatched by a 'gang that couldn't shoot straight", but its still tasteless at the least.

I was thinking the same thing, Cathy. That's the way a school would treat the behavior if it were a student's, too.

Besides, Palin gives Dems fresh fodder daily--why don't we just respond with more specificity and less crudeness?

(I'm rollin' my eyes along with Justin, tho, at this notion that anyone not of the GOP mindset must be an "anarchist.")

Oh, I completely agree the Palin effigy is out of bounds.

I just wish the Tennessee GOP had the grace to put out a statement saying a plan to kill school kids and assassinate Obama was bad, period - instead of feeling they had to gussy it up with references to other bad behavior (especially the rock throwing thing - of course I condemn property destruction, but it's just tacky to equate it with taking 100 human lives).
