And what is the status of
And what is the status of the lawsuit that could nullify last year's charter referendum and return commission to its current 19-seat form? Will the judges and attorneys sit on it until a ruling causes maximal chaos?
Maximum chaos?
Term limits redux!

And what is the status of the lawsuit that could nullify last year's charter referendum and return commission to its current 19-seat form? Will the judges and attorneys sit on it until a ruling causes maximal chaos?
Good question. It needs to be heard ASAP. If rumor is accurate, December 18th is the day.
I believe at one time the KNS had the brief posted. Lot's of points but a few of them will be impossible to dodge with the election law misdirection. There are T.C.A. issues that will force an answer to the chicken and egg question of the County Charter and the Tennessee Constitution.
Democratic Primary
In the Democratic primary ,for county commission district
races, I will support Democratic incumbents running for
re election.
If there are 2 incumbents running for re election
in the Democratic primary ,for county commission
district races, I will support the nominee.
I will vote for Sam McKenzie in the Democratic primary
for county commission ,District 1.
The 1st district commission seat is a six year term.
It is vital to our district that Sam is re elected
to county commission because Sam is an outstanding
representive.
Therefore,my sole focus will be to elect Sam McKenzie.
Matter of Opinion
First,to make clear my earlier post.
If the present plan..9 district commissioners &
2 at large is in place..& 2 Democratic incumbents
run against each other for the district nomination
..I will not support either incumbent but will support
the nominee.
It is a matter of opinion if one believes the Democratic
incumbent county commissioners ,under either 19 member
commission or the present plan of 9 district members
eligible to run in a district race, have done a good
job.
IMO,Broyles,Mark Harman & Saunders have done a
good job & are worthy of support.
Clearly,I am focused on electing Sam McKenizie & as
a yellow dog Democrat will support the county ticket.
mayor
what awful choices we have for mayor, and no I don't know of any prominent Democrats for it, to bad though.
Family
And keeping nepotism going I just read Duncan's son will run for Knox Co. Trustee. I wonder if any of those guys have ever been without some form of government insurance.
I wonder if any of those
I wonder if any of those guys have ever been without some form of government insurance.
Good question. I think we should do away with such good health insurance for government employees unless the same can be had by all.
Went to Amy Broyles campaign
Went to Amy Broyles campaign kick off at the Bounce House.
It was great fun and a great idea to have a campaign at such a kid friendly place.
Broyles said she did the event there because she is tired of going to events where she can't bring her kids.
I hope other local politicians will follow her lead and have events that specifically encourage participation by folks who can't afford babysitters, or who simply want to get their kids involved with local governance at an early age.
It certainly got out a much younger set than I have seen at these events previously- the 3-8 crowd- as well as their parents.
