I managed to snatch these from the KNS front page while they were still hot.

They're gone now.

I couldn't find credit for the photographer. David Keim wrote the story and hopefully got to sample the 'evidence'.

I had to send a link to my cousin in Corpus Christi. He is a retired KCSD officer and gets a bit irritated about donut jokes.

Hot (Reheated) Doughnuts

On a related note, Tennessee Jed has some disturbing news over on KnoxBlab:
"The Manager said they were trying a new process where the actually cook the donuts at the west location and reheat them here at Fountain city."

Several years ago when my cousin was still working with the county, his wife and I made 18 quarts of turkey chili. Every officer on his shift who had to work that Christmas Day and could get away for a few minutes came by our house and shared a bowl and a little peace.

Many years ago during a UT home game, a cop was trying to hurry pedestrians across a Cumberland Ave. intersection by yelling "LAST ONE ACROSS GOTTA BUY ME A DONUT!" I thought that was pretty cool, particularly since he was a fairly chunky guy (I could see some other people in his position not having much of a sense of humor about the cop/donut thing).
