This one is a cranberry/apple. The Granny Smiths are from North Carolina and the cranberries from, I suppose, some bog near Cape Cod. The pie is fairly tart, so it's good to add something like Breyer's French Vanilla ice cream. The plate is by Russel Wright, made in Liverpool, Ohio, around 1946 and found at the Powell Flea Market (remember that one?) several years ago.

Michael, these pie pix are

Michael, these pie pix are just sinful. Bet this one's tangy!

Some years ago, I became positively enamored with flea market dinnerware. I started with a few odd pieces of Fiesta, and it grew into a full-blown collection obsession. I eventually sold most of it to help my kid pay tuition, but it was fun. I kept the chipped and dinged pieces and still think they're cool.

i had a set of 'new' fiesta for many years but gave it to a palestinian family returning home. nice to know there's something US-made over there other than cluster bombs ..

i now eat mostly on the russel wright dishes, and yes, many of those pieces have acquired bruises over the years. what i like is the weight of the dishes -- food seems to always stay warm on them.
