Donila is reporting the Commission will table the idea tonight.
I still have a few unresolved questions-
continued...
Fee or Foe Office, budget system or not, all I want to do is be able to see if my tax money is paying for things like membership to the Chamber or Leadership this or that. I am just not finding these details on the County website. If I am simply missing the data links would someone please point it out.
Cost of the salary suits is never discussed. Again, Mike has some samples of those very documents.
Notice that these suits are between the office holder and the mayor. A change in office holder or change in mayor would require a new suit being filed. Under the Budget system the fee officeholder and the mayor sit down and hash out the employment details after the budget is passed. Then the document is signed and simply filed with the courts. That probably eliminates the need for outside counsel unless the mayor and office can not reach an agreement and the officeholder goes ahead with a real lawsuit.
As far as I can tell, we are back to the details of the mayor being able to ask the officeholders for a budget proposal in any manner he sees fit.
