Some local good news may have gotten lost amid the Presidential politics and Phil's phailures. UT is the home of a new national research center aimed at fostering collaboration between biologists and mathematicians. TV and newspaper reports mirrored the university press release, but I did some original reporting and tried to flesh out the story and the importance of this center.
