Maybe they should have the debates on a boat
Florida faces a climate crisis as Democratic candidates take the debate stage
Elizabeth Warren did well
Elizabeth Warren did well last night. Julian Castro stepped it up a bit.
I was pleased they spent some quality time on healthcare.
Not sure who did well last
Not sure who did well last night. Buttigeig stood out. Gillibrand was okay, a little pushy when speaking over others. Harris and Biden were okay. Learned a little about segregation and busing problems in 1970s Berkeley, CA, as reported by Harris.
did we watch the same debate?
(in reply to bizgrrl)
buttigeig is absolute trash to those on the left but as much as he makes gay leftists like me cringe, i see his appeal to liberals who like to wave the rainbow flag & pine for the obama years when "everything" (the proper highschool debate club tone of executive rhetoric) was A-OK.
in what world does *anyone* think biden did okay? noone stood out, but folks of all political stripes agree harris took steps forward and biden bombed even more badly than expected.
Harris seems to back off on
(in reply to bizgrrl)
Harris seems to back off on federally mandated busing a bit.
“I think of busing as being in the toolbox of what is available and what can be used for the goal of desegregating America’s schools,” she responded.
Asked to clarify whether she supports federally mandated busing, she replied, “I believe that any tool that is in the toolbox should be considered by a school district.”

It appears Biden isn't the
It appears Biden isn't the guy. Decent guy, but.
Bernie is a sad caricature of his 2016 self who still can't explain his proposals. And he's not even a Democrat. And he lies about Medicare for All. If you like Bernie, Warren is at least a Democrat.
Beto? LOL. Booker? Likes to hear himself talk. Williamson? Who? Buttigieg should drop out and run for Senate.
Apparently it's easier to get on the Democratic presidential ballot than it is to get on the ballot for Governor of Tennessee, which only requires 25 signatures on a petition.
Who's left among the serious candidates?
Harris, Klobuchar, Warren, and, uh, help me out here? I would vote for any of them. But sadly, Trump will beat any of them like a rented mule.
Except maybe Harris.
Dead horses
(in reply to R. Neal)
Actually, Bernie does a pretty good job of explaining his positions in his book, "Our Revolution."
Bernie's dedication to independence until the Democrats clean up the corruption within the party is the right thing to do, however unpopular that may be with yellow dogs.
OMG. Here we go again.

OMG. Here we go again.
Exactly.
(in reply to R. Neal)
Exactly.
And I don't even know who I'm supporting, Though Gabbard is clearly the sharpest knife in the drawer .
Gabbbard
(in reply to fischbobber)
Is wooden and the most republican in the bunch.
And Gabbard....
(in reply to R. Neal)
Would destroy Trump in a one on one debate.
worth noting
(in reply to fischbobber)
no comment on any of the dem candidates, but it is worth noting that HRC dominated trump in the 2016 debates.
stopping the GOP requires a mass movement politics that directly address the material conditions of the majority of the population, not any one idea of the right respectable sharp smartie..
Really?
You don't like Kamala Harris? Why not? Why do you think Trump will beat them? Very sad to lose you already. Have a little faith in Gen Z.
Warren probably has the best chance to win.
Biden is Clinton 2.0. Sanders is trying to run again after losing the first time. Which as we have seen, doesn’t work out. Harris has many, many skeletons in her closet. The rest are just meh. I highly doubt Trump will win again though.
It actually worked out well
(in reply to JR01)
It actually worked out well for several candidates including Nixon, Reagan, Jackson, and Jefferson. Nixon lost to Kennedy in 1960 and then even lost the governors race in California in 1962 to Pat Brown. After those losses, he won the Presidential election over Humphrey and American Party candidate Wallace in 1968. Reagan won on his third try in 1980. You don't know much about history huh? Don't feel bad, our President does not know anything about history or anything else. At least you are involved and take the time to express your opinion.
